Our Living Room Details

One of my most requested blogs and top questions on Instagram is about our living room details. Kyle and I brought some furniture and decor from our previous house but ended up selling most of those items and then purchasing new pieces. We both love clean, neutral spaces and Karen hates clutter. Some of the exact pieces we purchased are no longer available but I’ve found some similar options if you’re wanting the same look 🙂

Sofa

I’d put “Where is your sofa from” on the top 5 questions I receive. This particular sofa is the Utopia sectional from Living Spaces. We really loved the RH Cloud Sofa but didn’t want to spend that kind of $$ because each section costs an arm & leg!! So we opted for this ‘look-for-less’ and are so happy with it. If you’re looking for a luxury style sectional but don’t want to break the bank, this is IT. The color we chose is called ‘Caitlin Flax’ and it’s the perfect light ivory color that will also hide any small stains or imperfections. We spent the money to get the fabric professionally protected because we knew with a baby on the way it would see it’s day with stains, etc. If you are local to Dallas, we used a company called Fiberseal. The material is durable, yet soft and the cushion covers can be washed!

Overall, I think it fits our space perfectly and is so incredibly comfortable. We love the deep cushions and the cuddle chair can comfortably fit two people! I would say our only complaints are that the fabric pills up (so I use a fabric shaver for this) and the cushions will lose their shape if you sit in the same spot over & over without flipping/rotating them.

I’m unable to add a commissionable link for this exact sofa and this is not sponsored (I wish). I’ve just had so many requests to give a review on this sofa and wanted to share the details + my input after having it for almost a year now. I picked some almost identical ones that I was able to link to below! And the Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Throw Blankets I always get asked about can be found at Nordstrom Rack, Nordstrom, or Amazon.

Coffee Table

When searching for an updated coffee table, Kyle and I were really set on finding something durable. We spend a lot of time with each other in the living room and knew we’d eventually have young kids around it too. This CB2 Cap Ivory Cement Large Coffee Table immediately caught our eye; it’s color, durability, and no sharp corners. I only have a few items on my coffee table (usually). My Tom Ford Coffee Table Book can be found here. They changed the exterior ever so slightly but it’s almost identical!

Rug

This rug is the newest addition to our living room and one I had wanted for a long time. I love this Ruggable rug because it’s machine washable. A living room rug is bound to get dirty with guests, babies, and the occasional dinner around the coffee table. This is an 8×10 but obviously, get what size best fits your own space!

Fabric Shaver

I loveee this mechanical fabric shaver I bought from Amazon. Using this on the sofa is oddly satisfying and therapeutic (#adulting). There is another electric one from Amazon that has amazing reviews (that would also make a great Holiday gift).

Decorative Blanket Ladder

I purchased this black decorative blanket ladder (by the fireplace) from World Market a year or so ago. The espresso color is now sold out, but luckily there are so many other great options. World Market has a Natural Eucalyptus Ladder (at $60) that looks almost identical, minus the color, to mine. You could even spray paint one of these if you’re wanting the black color! I’ve linked some of my other favorites below 🙂

Hopefully, this blog post helps answer any questions or inspire you for your next space. If I didn’t cover something you’ve been searching for, drop it in the comments below and I’ll be sure to update the post with the answers. Check out my Home Decor page on my blog for more inspiration!
