TX snow days are just the best!! ❄️✨ dropped everything to play in the snow for 3 days straight 🫶🏼// built a (princess) snowman ⛄️, took the kids to my middle school to sled down the hill like mom used to 🛷, caught snowflakes on our tongues, had homemade hot cocoa ☕️, made snow angels 👼🏼 & many snowball fights were had! #snowday

Can’t move on in my feed without recapping so many special Christmas moments + sharing some post-holiday, sappy revelations with you🎄✨ — I know I’m late to sharing, but I’m okay with that & hope you are, too !!

As 2024 was coming to an end, I started to reflect on the past year + changes I want to make in 2025. I’ve always disliked the phone attachment we all have inevitably succumbed to and the pressure to immediately respond or post in the moment ….which is kind of the nature of my job, so it’s a constant challenge for me. But something kept telling me more than ever that time is so precious & fleeting. That my children are growing so quickly and we will never get these moments back. No one had to remind me, it wasn’t a social media post that sparked this…I just felt it.

Capri & Knox were at such a peak age this Christmas — to be so full of joy, excited about the story of Jesus’ birth, no longer afraid of Santa & asking all the questions about him, absolutely thrilled about any Christmas event/activity, understanding & valuing the importance of family time during the holidays. It was incredible.

And so I followed my heart — put my phone down when I wasn’t fulfilling pre-committed work obligations. I said “yes” every time my kids asked me to play with them, to dance & take silly pictures with them, to any Christmas activity or idea they had, to all of the things that can be so draining as a parent while you are simultaneously preparing/checking everything off your list before the big day.

I may be sharing weeks later, but because of this — I started 2025 feeling so fulfilled….knowing that I gave my kids & family every ounce of me being “present” that I could to make it special for all. It may have taken them being back to school this week for me to recover (lol), but it sure was worth it!

Here’s to me posting when I want in 2025 😂 and not feeling the need to be “on” ALL the time — on my phone, on-call for emails/texts, on Instagram, etc…because some things can wait & some are moments you will miss otherwise! Who says s’mores have to be just an outdoor treat? 🍪🥛🍫 The weather here in Dallas is slowly dropping which means more cozy evenings indoors with the kids.
