Finding a dress to wear to a Spring wedding can actually be quite easy and simple. Of course the typical floral maxi dress will work, but if you’re over the usual like I am…here’s another idea. After attending a Spring wedding the past weekend, I chose a fitted shimmer midi dress for a more sophisticated-sexy look. The thicker material of this dress gives a great amount of shape to the body and the oversize waved hemline makes for a fun unexpected detail! While you’re never trying to steal any spotlight from the bride (is that even possible?), you still don’t want to look like the other 3 women seated at your table….

I love the length of this dress because it’s prefect for a long night of dancing and the little bit of shimmer makes it different than your average midi dress! The navy & black combo is something I’ve been a huuuuge fan of lately…anyone else? I wore this same look to the wedding I attended this past weekend but we had a major cold front and weather was in the high 50’s! So I just threw this black satin kimono over my dress, swapped my bag for a beaded clutch, added some gold jewelry (this & this), but a simple black pashmina to throw over your shoulders would work as well.
