One of my favorite memories as a child were the days my parents let me play hookie from school. I know this sounds bad at first thought, but it was all in good fun (and thanks to my loud mouth our teachers always knew what we were really doing). Twice a year, my dad would come pull my sister & I out of school at lunch time to go have a daddy/daughter shopping spree day. Did anyone else do this? Back to school shopping in both Fall and Spring were the two best days of the year! Unfortunately they had to come to an end at some point (sigh), but I can’t wait to do that with my own kids some day.
Aside from this cute story and the fact I’m no longer in school, it taught me a thing or two about wardrobe planning this time of year. When transitioning to Fall I always look for pieces that can be worn multiple ways and can long outlast the current weather conditions. Layering pieces are key! Today I’ve teamed up with Urban Outfitters to bring you my adult version of back-to-school style and what I consider to be Fall transition pieces…
LOOK ONE: SATIN BOMBER JACKET | VINTAGE LEVI SHORTS | QUAY CAT-EYE SUNGLASSES | BLACK TANK | BLACK HIGHTOP SNEAKERS (love THIS low top version) | QUIRKY PINS | ALL C/O URBAN OUTFITTERS | BLACK LEATHER BACKPACK
LOOK TWO: TIERED SLIP DRESS | QUAY MARBLE SUNGLASSES | SHOES (OLD, SIMILAR HERE) | ALL C/O URBAN OUTFITTERS
Lightweight bomber jackets, slip dresses, retro sneakers, and statement sunnies….per usual, Urban Outfitters has everything and more to make sure you’re on trend for Fall 2016. This satin green bomber jacket is so soft and will definitely be a wardrobe staple for me this Fall! I love that even though it’s in the upper 90’s here in TX right now, I can wear this bomber jacket over a tank or dress (like this floral dress I just bought to wear with it) at night and tied around my waist for a cool girl look during the day. Best part? The bomber jacket is on major sale right now ๐
Happy Monday! XO.
