Our Black Tie Couples Shower

Last month we had our couples shower and it was everything I ever dreamed of so I wanted to share it with you guys. So many of you had questions on Instagram about the shower, so I’m going to be answering them all in this blog post and breaking down the details! Get ready for picture overload….

The shower was hosted by my sister and brother-in-law at a condo building in River Oaks. We have family that lives there, so we used the community space downstairs! How beautiful is it by the way? So many of you guys asked where this was, but sadly it’s not available to the public. Keep reading past the first group of photos for all the party details!

I worked with Gracious Bridal shop on Etsy for all of our customized party stuff and I couldn’t have been happier with how they turned out. Definitely going to be using them for future party supplies! They did the custom koozies, napkins, matchboxes, and monogrammed drinking glasses. There are amazing photos in their shop that give you a good starting point, but you can pretty much customize anything you want with fonts & colors. Here are links to each of the exact items we ordered:

For our flowers, we used one of my local favorites Joybox Flowers. The owner, Layla, is a ray of sunshine and the sweetest human. If you love flower accounts, make sure you check out their Instagram because it is serious GOALS. I am obsessed with how these turned out. I kept them in my house for 2 weeks after the event and they stayed alive! These flower arrangments were the perfect added touch of elegance since our party was black tie.

Speaking of — a lot of you on Instagram were saying how fancy this couples shower was (lol). We chose to do cocktail attire/black tie because we thought it was a fun excuse to dress up. And also because, why not?? The guys rarely get to wear their tuxes, so it was a fun time to bust them out. For the guys that didn’t own one (like Kyle), they just rented one from BLK TUX!

For our alcohol, Tito’s (our absolute favorite vodka) and Karbach Brewery were so generous to supply all of our alcohol. We hired a bartender to come in and make the drinks, but we had Karbach Love Street (our fav craft beer) and mixed drinks. More than enough for this rowdy group!

After we partied, played games, and ate some food we made our way to the party bus around 11pm. The party bus took us to a local club where we had bottle service and partied the night away. My favorite moment was the ride back home when there were only 6 of us left on the party bus headed back to our house. Karen was killing it with the dance moves and put on a show for all of us. I’ve NEVER seen him like this hahaha.

Our couples shower weekend was one for the books and Kyle & I will always remember it forever. Thank you to our friends, family, and vendors that helped make this the most memorable time!!
