It may be a surprise to you that I was on the hunt for the perfect down coat this winter considering the record breaking (warm) temps across the nation, but my family is spending christmas up in Santa Fe, New Mexico and it’s going to be freeeeezing! I’ll just admit it…I am such a wimp when it comes to the cold, but I was born & raised in Texas so I will use that excuse and any other I can get for the rest of my life. I do however love (visiting) the snow, especially during the holidays! I’m so excited to have a snowy christmas in Santa Fe with all of the people I love most in my life!

I wanted a coat that would not only keep me warm but also had a faux fur hood! The hood makes all the difference here because it takes the coat from looking like a plain outdoorsy puffer coat to a chic outerwear. The day I shot this look it just so happened to be one of the very few cold/windy days we’ve had so far here in Dallas and no joke, I was warm down to my ankles (when it was zipped up). I have no doubts that I’ll be living in this coat once I step foot off that plane in New Mexico.
