10. OBEY Grey Greenwhich Trench Jacket

To say I’m into trenches trend at the moment would be a mere understatement. This hunter green trench by French Connection is honestly the best thing in my closet right now. I literally have to stop myself from wearing it every day. If you follow me on Instagram you know I recently visited NYC and got to play dress up with French Connection. I couldn’t leave their SoHo store without either of these two trenches (HERE & HERE). When I first tried the green trench on, it was one of those wardrobe moments where there’s a 0% chance you’ll be leaving without it. I’m generally a size 2 in French Connection pieces, but I got a 4 in the hunter green trench and it fits like a glove! If I didn’t care to save face, I would’ve worn it out of the store. A shopping rule of thumb…if you have the desire to wear it out of the store, BUY IT.

P.S. I’m trying out this whole Tuesday Ten thing today and will be doing it every week from here on out. It wont always be a collage like this, but I’ll be sharing lots of fun things on with you guys on Tuesday’s (ie:  highlighting trends, top 10 for the month, hair styles, bloggers to follow, instagram accounts i love, photo editing tips, favorite foods, things you don’t know about me, DIY projects, etc). Any requests? Taking any and all <3

As always, thanks for taking time to stop by! Happy Tuesday πŸ™‚

HOME DECOR IDEAS ON PINTEREST

il_570xN.700390456_oek4

As I pack and gear up for my big move tomorrow, I wanted to share with you guys some home decor that is  my inspiration behind decorating my new room/home {found via — you guessed it, Pinterest}. Myself & two other girlfriends found the cutest little gem of a home in Dallas and we’re super excited to get moved in!! In terms of my own bedroom– I’m going for minimal, muted neutrals, and just a hint of an eclectic vibe. Once I’m finished, I’ll be doing a big home & bedroom reveal for you guys! Decorating is most definitely a continual/lengthy process, but I plan to share many snippets of that journey with all of you along the way (especially via Instagram). Below are a few photos that are inspiring me at the moment but for your viewing pleasure, please follow me on Pinterest for more {especially my Home & Work Space boards}. Screen Shot 2015-04-15 at 10.53.28 AMWorkspace8Screen Shot 2015-04-15 at 10.57.00 AMWorkspace6b1b24a2ae80b0209bfff44a38a560592fa5bcf86630b5c1f5f6a6b3ae75f20faa46ca6cec595194ab8de52adb32c1ece

Let’s talk Pinterest people. If you aren’t an avid Pinterest user and you’re lacking any sort of creativity, you need to get.with.it. I always thought I was pretty creative…until I discovered Pinterest. Whenever I need inspiration or am planning for a big project {outfit ideas, DIY projects, home decor, etc.} I go to Pinterest. Pinterest to me is like your own virtual mood board that is broken down into sub categories. What’s more beautiful than a well curated mood board?

P.S. If you are in fact a Pinterest connoisseur, which Pinterest boards or accounts are your favorites to follow? Please share in the comments below so I can check them out!

Here’s another festival inspired look for all of you Coachella 2015 goers this weekend & next (P.S. beyond jealous of you if you’re attending). Although I’ve never been to Coachella, I have experienced my fair share of festivals and know a thing or two about what to wear & what not to. First things first — COMFORT. You want to be comfortable when you’re walking all over the place. Secondly — it gets HOT (this may seem obvious), but I strongly advise layering. Throw a tank underneath a lightweight knit sweater (yes, you’ll need a sweater for the cold dessert nights). Lastly — you need a bag that will hold everything you need to get you through the day, but something structured/sturdy that will hold up through the crowd.

This is my two cents on festival going for Coachella 2015. What would be your top 3 recommendations?

P.S. In this recent post I was dishing on how amazing Harper Hallam (this jewelry line I recently discovered) is and I wanted to share a 4th piece with you. ^^ this turquoise necklace is sure to make any festival look stand out! Be sure to follow along on instagram if you aren’t already. I just may be giving away a good chunk of change in the form of gift certificate to their site πŸ™‚

After my most recent giveaway for the Chloe bucket bag + Wildfox mirrored sunglasses, I realized it’s time that I share my love for both of these trends. Starting with the bucket bags — structure, fashionable, and accessibility. What more could you ask for than a purse that holds everything you need (and then some), but still retains its shape with an easy synch? If you’re anything like me, you’re constantly on the go and convenience is key. Definitely a spring essential for me.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that mirrored sunglasses are all the hype. I may have gone a bit overboard on these over the last couple years, but obviously the trend is here to stay. When you’re looking for a pair of mirrored sunglasses, Wildfox Couture & Ray-Ban has the best selection in my opinion! I have these in silver and just ordered these. If you’re planning to hit any music festivals this spring/summer, a bucket bag & mirrored sunglasses are the perf accessories.

Thank you so much to those of you that entered our giveaway for the Chloe bucket bag and Wildfox mirrored sunglasses!! If you didn’t win this time, I have a few amazing giveaways coming up on my Instagram for April πŸ™‚ One starting tomorrow for a YSL clutch (PROMISE YOU DONT WANT TO MISS) & another amazing Instagram giveaway with Harper Hallam coming soon (see how I styled some of their pieces in this recent post)! Plenty of opportunity to be a winner, so if you aren’t already >> follow me on Instagram @sosageblog & stay tuned!

Whether you’ve hopped on board or not, festival style has become it’s own trend and season in the last 4-5 years. The perfect harmony between Spring & Summer and it just so happens to be one of my favorite times of the year in terms of fashion! A time when the conservative let their guard down and the free-spirited really spread their wings. Which one am I? Well, I think y’all know the answer to that πŸ˜‰ Fashion to me, is all about taking risks and putting yourself outside of your comfort zone. That’s the beauty of it. You don’t always have to ‘dress your part’. If you aren’t typically a risk taker in the wardrobe area, this is the perfect excuse to do so! I can promise you one thing, nobody’s judging at a music festival. As big of a fashion risk you think you’re taking, there will be thousands of others that are wearing things you couldn’t even imagine.

For festival style, typically I’m comfortable in a band tee or crop top & cutoff denim..but I wanted to try something different this time. Today I’ve teamed up with this amazing jewelry line called Harper Hallam (my newest obsession), to bring you this festival style look. Incorporating a small part of your “comfort zone” into your not so typical look is totally okay. For me, that’s layered necklaces and stacked bracelets. I’ve been wearing the you-know-what out of this Harper Hallam set ever since I got it. It adds the perfect amount of vintage, boho edge to any outfit. I was pulling pieces for this shoot and I could literally pair the two necklaces and bracelets with a thousand different looks.

Something I love most about Harper Hallam is that they are based out of Dallas and have perfect synergy with my philosophy of style and the purpose of this blog; Luxury staples paired with accessible finds. There’s something about their pieces that exude confidence, edgy, feminine style that’s everlasting. I’m all about it.

P.S. Stay tuned for the rest of my festival style inspired looks and be sure to follow me on instagram @sosageblog (if you aren’t already) because I just may be giving something away from Harper Hallam πŸ™‚

*A big thank you to Harper Hallam for sponsoring this post. All thoughts & opinions remain my own.
