Who doesn’t love black? It matches with everthing (even navy and brown), it’s so flattering, and it can definitely hide the unwanted. But there’s something about a casual black & white outfit that is so effortlessly chic. Now that we’re going into the fall season, invest in a solid black cardi. You can throw it with any outfit to play your look down or put a printed (ie: polka dot, stripes, geometric) collared blouse underneath to give it a more dressy vibe. I always love to give my looks a little bit of edge. So throwing on a simple black spike bracelet before walking out the door adds the perfect touch of edge. Moral of the can never have enough black in your wardrobe. Invest in a black jacket/cardi, your go-to black sneaker, a simple black beanie, and a stunning pair of shades. My two hands arent enough to count all of my favorite black items in my closet. When all else fails, think simple. Think black & white.

I can’t wait for the weekend! I’m going to a music festival called Day Glow on Friday in the city and then on Saturday we have a college football game going on here. It’s going to be a blast. What are your plans for the weekend??

In the words of Rachel Zoe, this top is so so ‘maj’. Aka, major. What’s even more maj
is the fact that it’s been marked down tremendously. The quality of the fabric to the exuberant colors, I couldn’t pass on this sweet high-low breezy top. As it get a bit cooler I plan on putting it with some black denim, glam booties, and my new fave leather jacket.

Happy Monday! Hope you have a fab week loves!

I don’t know if you can tell yet, but I am estatic for the fall weather but more importantly the wardrobe change that comes with it. Short booties are trending yet again this fall and these babies are going to get double the use I thought they would. I bought these booties last fall and they are back this season available at full price. As I mentioned in a few of my previous posts the importance of a few staple pieces, these brown/taupe suede leather booties are def one of them. Not to mention, they’re by far the most comfortable bootie (with a bit of a heel) that I’ve ever owned. When you feel like you could run a mile in your heels, you know they’re too good to pass up. Jeffrey Campbell is a genious and anyone that knows me can tell you that I have a serious liking (ok, love) for almost any shoe he makes. I have a stack of JC shoe boxes stacked up in my storage room. I’m getting close to the ceiling if that tells you anything! Some of his shoes are outrageously crazy works of art, but as Marilyn Monroe put it, “it’s better to be ridiculous than boring.”

Have a great weekend!

Throw It Together Thursday’s: Part 1

A fashion crisis solution for the times you’re sitting there starring at your closet…wishing your clothes would just come to life, jump out of your closet and onto your body.

This is the first part of my 4 post series for the month of September called “Throw It Together Thursday’s”. Every Thursday of this month, I will post some different looks that I have (obvi) just thrown together quickly; outfit’s that don’t take a lot of time to plan and consist of basic pieces that most fashionistas already have in their closets. If you don’t have your basics covered, then you need to get on it girl! There is something about simplicity that exudes extreme confidence. The basic staples are oh-so neccessary for every closet and should be at the top of your list for wardrobe investments.

This plain crop top in the neutral color (Free People has an incredible variety) can be used for layering under blouses, sweaters, you name it. I am such a fan of the printed maxi’s, but in this case a neutral colored maxi that can be mixed with printed OR solid tops is perf. A black bootie with a little edgy/rock glam is right up my ally. This is so a must for the fall season. A solid pair of sunnies (round are so in..RAEN kills it the sun dept). Some simple studs (choose a color that is very versatile) and a sturdy crossbody small black bag that can be thrown with any outfit. I could literally wear this Tory Burch with any outfit, day or night.

Hopefully this series will offer you some fashion inspo and go-to outfits so that when neccessary, you can throw this on and get out the door!

Stay tuned the rest of this month for more Throw It Together Thursday’s!

New Shop Tab

Well…considering this is Hump Day and the week following a 4 day weekend, things have been so crazy busy for me. For those of you that don’t know, I own a business that I operate on a daily basis and this blog is something I do for fun on the side. My business is apart of the health/fitness industry and with holidays like Labor Day things get a little nuts around here! Anyhow, I apologize for the delay but I promise to have an outfit post up tomorrow. For a quick update, I spent my Labor Day weekend shopping (of course), eating good food, laughing until my stomach hurt, tailgating/watching OU football, and hanging out with friends. So relaxing and full of fun! I can’t wait to share my new Labor Day sale purchases with all of you (got a few killer pieces at ridiculous prices).

The exciting thing about today’s post is that I did a little website update over the holiday and added a tab to the top section of my blog called ‘SHOP’.  Looks something similar to this:

I will regularly (weekly) be updating my favorite pieces of the moment. Some are currently hanging in my closet, some have been ordered/are on their way, and some I am working to get my hands on! Regardless of where they’re currently located, they are all my style picks of the moment and readily available for you to shop too (hence the name)! You can pin or tweet each of the items and also purchase them at the click of a button. I hope this makes you as happy as it makes me! 🙂

Have a wonderful hump day my friends.
