Leather & plaid are two of falls hottest trends and I have been browsing the web up and down to find the chicest pieces for all of you! These two leather jackets are great options and both incredibly affordable. You definitely want to invest in a good leather jacket for fall; always great for taking your look into the chilly nights or layering for the perfect daytime chic look.
For my day look, comfort is key. Who wants to walk around with blisters on their feet from wearing 4 inch stiletto’s all day? Not this girl! I am most comfortable in a graphic tank or t-shirt, but always love a little bit of edge. This quirky lips tank from American Eagle is perfect. I would tuck it into the high waisted skirt and maybe tie my leather jacket around the waist. The converse are obviously ideal for walking around and getting ish done (my collection wont stop growing). Another option would be to wear some black combat boots. Love that look..and combat boots are suprisingly very comfortable. Throw on some of this killer chanel bronzer and your fave sleek tote…boom!
To take this look into the night..obvi throw your leather jacket over the shoulders. Switch our your cozy tank for a fitted black crop top (or even black leotard), your highest pair of black booties, and your go-to nightime crossbody bag (except wear it on one shoulder instead of throwing it across the chest..tends to look more nightime-ish this way). Add a red lip? Always. This is a ladies easiest way to sass up her look. Besides…what guy doesn’t love a red lip on a woman? So sexy!
And guess what?? It’s the weekend baby!! I encourage you all to take a risk and try this look and let me know how it works out 🙂
ANNOUNCING MY GIVEAWAY TOMORROW LADIES!! SOOOO EXCITED!!!! 🙂
So I was driving around the city looking for a cool place to shoot this red hot number and happened to stumble upon this ridiculously dope work of art. I was really just doing this as a test shoot because I wanted to see how well the dress stood out on top of all the craziness happening behind me, so pardon my lack of a better facial expression in the first photo. Although this red number is perfectly capable of owning a simple backdrop, I was really happy with the photos and voilà! Plus, all the color in this grafitti is just too badass.
When I first saw this dress I immediately thought omg. Valentino Red. It has to be. Right? Wrong. But delightfully so, because my wallet was much happier with me 🙂 This dress is DV by Dolce Vita. They are downright killing it in the dress department at the moment and they really outdid themselves on this one. The color is everything. And the embellished stitching is the icing on the cake. There isn’t anything about this dress that won’t shout fun, sexy, and classy. I also love the capped sleeves on this dress and all of the cutout/sheer detailing because it offers a very feminine touch on such a bold color. Prior to this shoot I attended a baby shower for one of my best and oldest friends. It’s a boy! So I didn’t want to dress too girly, but I wanted it to wear something that was playful yet bold. I would say this dress is just that. The color is technically “berry” but it’s almost a mixture of cranberry, candy apple red, and crimson. Ironically, these are some of fall’s hottest hues this year and I.am.diggin.it.
(bonus: I totally matched some of the baby shower goodies and I wasn’t the least bit mad about it)
In the past I have passed up on solid red pieces for two reasons; one because it appeared to look way too old ladyish (no thanks) and or because it appeared to be trashy or slutty (def not about that). However, this one can go down in the books for me. It’s a fall statement piece I can’t wait to play around with. I’m thinking a slicked back high ponytail, long vintage chanel necklace, and some black pumps for a christmas party or night out in Dallas. Ok, I know I’m getting ahead..but it will be here before we know it! Happy 3rd day of fall to all you fashionistas! Stay tuned this week for more great outfit inspo and the announcement for my upcoming giveaway!!
Happy Monday madness loves! I hope this outfit gets you as excited for the week as it has me. I mean this pop of pink is so killer and it goes perfect with a simple graphic t-shirt like the one my blogger crush of Sincerely Jules designed called the “célfie tee”. First of all I’m a huge fan of selfies, secondly a major fan of her, and lastly I’m the biggest fan of soft clothing. Whenever I’m shopping I’m always that person that is touching everything to see what the material feels like. Weird, I know…but that’s just how it goes. And for this tee, there was no touchy involved. Straight trust. I ordered this from her online site (you can order here) and I was amazed by the fit and definitely by the feel for how cheap it was. (Only $39!). She is such a down to earth chick and her style kicks a**. Why buy the knock off tees when you can get the real thing at such a reasonable price? I’m always down to support independent business owners and authentic artists. We females have to stick together, you feel my vibe?
I’ve been avoiding one of the biggest trends this fall, ‘the boyfriend jean’ like the plague. I’m not even going to lie…I just never found it flattering on anyone other than 6 ft modelds with bean pole legs anyone else with me? I’ve always had more muscular legs (blame it on college soccer) and a smaller waist, so jeans and I haven’t always been friends. The last thing anyone wants is to feel ‘big’ in their jeans, but I have to say I feel like there is something extremely sexy about the relaxed, destroyed, I-may-or-may-not-have-just-borrowed-these-from-my-boyfriend jeans. These jeans in particular seemed to fit my body type the best out of any others I’ve tried on. I wanted something that sat low on my hips and were extra holey and baggy. They’re actually called the ‘baggies’ 🙂 I finally caved and invested in these rad One Teaspoon jeans. Best ever. I am totally, asbolutely, insanely obsessed. They are everything. Literally. The holes, the fit, and the feel. (FYI- I think the smallest size is a 24 and I am wearing a 25 here. They will stretch a little after wearing..I had a belt on here because they were nearly falling off. Definitely couldve gone with the 24). I encourage you to give the boyfriend jean a try. It’s really much more flattering than you might think at first glance. Break it up by tucking your simple t-shirt into the jeans and wearing a bright colored short blazer with a statement necklace. I also love the rolling the jeans at the bottom (most boyfriend jeans are cropped) and having that little bit of skin showing gives it a feminine touch that we all love.
Now that I’ve given you my monday shpeal, I have some exciting things that are going to start happening on the blog. I can’t wait to share..so I’ll give you a little bit of a hint. GIVEAWAYS!!! This will be a regular occurence from here on out, to get my readers involved and so I can get to know you fabulous people a little better. Stay tuned this week to hear more details on what I’ll be giving away. A 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target bag just might be in the mix. Maybe? Idk, just sayin..
P.S. Sincerely Jules has also done a couple other collabs with Shopbop and Revolve Clothing that are totally worth checking out. More great options for graphic tees with catchy phrases. You can shop them here and here!
Which designer/brand makes your favorite pair of boyfriend jeans? Any recommendations for me? Leave you favorites in a comment below, I would love to hear!
I know I’ve dissappeared for the last week so I apologize, but hopefully replacing ‘Throw It Together Thursday’s’ post with this one will make up for it 🙂
Anybody else ready for sweater weather? As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I couldn’t be more excited for the fall weather (and wardrobe). I live in the South, so after ridiculously hot summers we’re ready for some cool weather! I think this outfit is a great transition-to-fall outfit. It’s not time to jump into my favorite fall outfit (sweaters & jeans) yet, but just cool enough to throw on a simple sweater like this super cozy one by Sanctuary. It’s not that itchy wool fabric, which I loooove because wool and even sometimes cashmere sweaters have me feeling so uncomfortable! This sweater is the perfect weight and easy to wear with any color cutoff jean shorts (we all own million pairs from summer). My new Phillip Lim for Target mini satchel bag (obsessed) and my favorite Jeffrey Campbell slashed booties gave this look just the right amount of edge I am always looking for! Don’t try to get too matchy matchy. Don’t get me wrong, I love ALL black everything. Shoes, purse, hat, clothing, etc…but sometimes breaking your look up with nuetrals that vary in color can be a great thing. What are some of your favorite sweaters at the moment? I have my eye on a few and I am sharing them with you below! Enjoy 🙂
Just as the rest of the fashionistas and bloggers out there, I could hardly wait to get my hands on any and all pieces from the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collection. But Sunday morning became my worst nightmare (oversleeping..on any important day). I had planned on being first in line but didn’t arrive to my local target until noon. Luckily I live in a small(er) town, because tons of goodies were left 🙂 I snagged a few purses and most all of the pieces I was on the hunt for. My absolute favorite has to be the Taupe Mini Satchel. It’s the perfect size for day or night..plus I’m just a sucker for anything mini!
The site of females in the Phillip Lim section was similar to kids in a candy store. I love candy, but I love 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target just a litttttle more. Ok, a lot. I couldnt decide on a few items, so I just bought them all. YOLO..right? Which was your fave piece from the collection? I hope you all got to indulge as much as I did!
Who doesn’t love black? It matches with everthing (even navy and brown), it’s so flattering, and it can definitely hide the unwanted. But there’s something about a casual black & white outfit that is so effortlessly chic. Now that we’re going into the fall season, invest in a solid black cardi. You can throw it with any outfit to play your look down or put a printed (ie: polka dot, stripes, geometric) collared blouse underneath to give it a more dressy vibe. I always love to give my looks a little bit of edge. So throwing on a simple black spike bracelet before walking out the door adds the perfect touch of edge. Moral of the story..you can never have enough black in your wardrobe. Invest in a black jacket/cardi, your go-to black sneaker, a simple black beanie, and a stunning pair of shades. My two hands arent enough to count all of my favorite black items in my closet. When all else fails, think simple. Think black & white.
I can’t wait for the weekend! I’m going to a music festival called Day Glow on Friday in the city and then on Saturday we have a college football game going on here. It’s going to be a blast. What are your plans for the weekend??
