TGIF..right?! It’s always an adjustment for me getting back to work after some vacation time. Lack of sleep has me feeling run down, so I’m looking forward to the weekend πŸ™‚

Is this cobalt blue leather jacket from BCBG Maxazria not everything? I’m kind of obsessed. Actually, really obsessed. I love the black zipper details because it gives it an even edgier vibe + it pairs well with the most dominant color in my wardrobe, black. This is actually the first investment piece I’ve purchased in quiet some time that wasn’t black, but I couldn’t leave the store without it (go figure).

P.S. it’s on major sale, so go get it while you can! Happy Friday y’all πŸ™‚

Fur Coat

Fur Coat: Neiman Marcus (old, almost identical fur coat here for 1/2 the price!) | Top: Forever 21 | Denim: Joe’s Jeans | Shoes: Christian Louboutin (if sold out/also LOVE these & these)

Every girl needs herself a fur coat (or 5)….especially one with a zipper & a hood! I got this coat for christmas a few years ago and believe me when I tell you, I may live in Texas…but it’s been put to good use. This is a winter staple piece every girl needs in her closet. And although it comes with a cost, it’s most definitely worth it. Usually the splurges are worth it because they last longer and you get more use out of it.

You’d think fur coats/jackets were for dressy night time looks (…and they are of course), but I also love dressing them down with a pair of jeans. I know one thing…I’ll be relying on this bad boy to keep me warm during Fashion Week in February. It’s my first time going in the Spring, but I hear it’s always freezing cold!

P.S. I just got sneak peak at some of the raw images from shooting in the Dominican Republic this past weekend. They’re amazing and I can’t wait to share with y’all soon πŸ™‚

There’s nothing I love more than 2 things: being comfortable & bringing out my inner tomboy. I told you guys in a recent post that I was trying out jeans + tennishoes for the first time and was pleasantly surprised with the look. So here I am doing it again, only I wanted to make this look a little more chic/not so much grunge. This is a more polished tomboy looked compared to the last one. You could wear this running errands all over town for daytime and trade out your nike’s for these stuart weitzman boots at night.

I feel like I haven’t posted in forever and I’m sorry, but I was in the Dominican Republic the last 5 days for a wedding/vacation and had horrible service! However…. I’m back now and I can’t wait to share my Dominican Republic travel diary along with tons of great beach looks for all the Spring/Summer vacay’s y’all have coming up!

Stay tuned for more & as always thank you for reading πŸ™‚

If you can’t tell from the photos, it was freezing cold & windy when we were shooting this look. Somehow all the pink in this outfit makes it look like the weather wasn’t all that bad, but it most definitely was! On a more exciting note, this pink blazer is on major major sale.  It’s such a flattering cut on the shoulders for a woman and the color is versatile, so I will definitely be wearing this through both winter & spring. My week is so darn crazy this week with work and leaving for the Dominican Republic on Thursday morning. I’m going for a close family friends wedding and vacationing through Monday, so that paired with the fact that I’ve never been I’m super excited!! (so…pardon my upcoming posts dedicated to tropical vacays — such a tease in this cold weather, I know)

I have a really fun beach series coming up where I’ve collaborated with a group of amazing sponsors, so when I get back from vacay I will be sharing that along with the announcement of my new blog name πŸ™‚ For the time being, follow my journey on instagram if you aren’t already to get the early scoop!

Plaid + Pouf

So the weather has decided to take a crazy turn on us here in Texas. Temperatures are reaching in the teens and I’ll just be completely honest…I’m a HUGE wimp when it comes to the cold (can’t help it, I’m from TX). In saying this, I obviously don’t leave the house without making sure I will be staying warm and comfortable. Let’s be real, the only upside to ridiculously cold weather is the fashion that comes along with it. Funky coats, boots, leather jackets, fur, etc…it’s all so fabulous and admittedly so, that’s what helps me get through these terrible temps.

Rightly so, I’ve been on an extreme sweater & coat binge in preparation for the weather and this little grey number is one of my most recent purchases — a steal of a deal might I add. Under $50 & great for layering up because it has a lot of room in the midsection. Not to mention, it’s SO warm. I paired it with this fun plaid top by cooper & ella (one of my favorite blouse lines I dished on in a past post here) to add a little color to the mix.

If you’re reading this and thinking I’m crazy for complaining so much about the weather go ahead and do so, but if you say you love it being this cold/windy…I’m calling BS!

I have so many exciting things coming up that I can’t wait to share with y’all, including the announcement of my blog’s new name & some fun collaborations. If you aren’t already, follow my daily journey on instagram..I love interacting with my you guys! Thank you for reading πŸ™‚

NYE Party Look

New Years Eve is fun every year, but it was really fun this year for a special reason — my dad was turning 50!! I know, he’s young and yes he’s a NYE baby… so we planned a huge party for him at ZaZa hotel with all of our closest family friends and partied like there was no tomorrow.

My look…

Because I was going to be inside and around a crowd of people (it was PACKED) + cocktails involved, my main concern was getting too toasty. The girls thought it would be fun to all be in neutrals, so I opted for this stunning Alice & Olivia bustier paired with flawy high wasted pants and it was perfect in terms of body temp. I literally eyed this bustier months ago at Neimans but I was afraid to try it on out of fear of falling so in love with it that I would buy it. So a couple days before the party I tried it on just for fun and then naturally, couldn’t leave the store without it. Oops! I have to say…zero buyers remorse on my end. She will make another appearance…

These Stuart Weitzman nudist shoes are my new favorite heel. They’re so flattering on a woman’s foot and very reasonably priced for an investment piece. These will be a Weitzman staple piece and definitely worth the splurge!

P.S. that’s my fam in the group picture…my everything πŸ™‚

I hope you all had an amazing holiday season. Happy New Year!! XOX
