My tomboy tendencies date back to my childhood years and even in my adult life it’s pretty rare you see me in something that’s solid bright pink… but this combo is an exception to my habits. Military elements can look a bit masculine if you’re not careful, so I thought it would be fun to try something new here and add a bright color under this amazing military anorak (another one of those pieces that will be getting lots of use this season). It’s the perfect weight (not too heavy or light), so it’s great for layering as well!
I got these Jeffrey Campbell booties 2.5 years ago and they continue to go on sale for full price year after year (hint hint…good investment purchase). They are so cozy and the perfect heeled bootie for jeans and dresses! Plus…how cute is the suede + wooden heel combo? I’m still in love.
My denim drawer in my closet is seriously out of control, but there’s some things you can never have enough of. For me, that’s denim. I love a good pair of jeans — especially amazingly destroyed denim with a boyfriend fit like these BLANKnyc jeans. I’m going to wear the you-know-what out of them this Fall season. I love that you can dress them up or dress them down, but most importantly they give any look the edgy vibe we all know and love. I cant wait to wear them with a crisp white button up and other dressy tops with some of my favorite patent pointed pumps (like these).
P.S. This fall weather has me so inspired for this year’s Fall fashion. I have so many exciting collabs coming up that I can’t wait to share with all my readers. I love each and every one of you for reading along. As always, your comments/feedback are always welcome! 🙂
Ok I know New York Fashion Week was like 3 weeks ago but there were just so many photos to go through and I’m honestly just now having the time to get around to posting them (+ work has been absolutely cray cray!)
I wore this look for the rewardStyle NYFW party at the Empire Hotel. I loved this look for this particular Fashion Week event because because it was sleek yet fun (and kept me cool enough in the super humid weather). Not to mention, I’m all about adding in the unexpected…just like these amazing shimmery pumps and this leopard Clare Vivier bag.
I also wanted to do something different with my hair this day than the usual loose curls or straight hair. This hair was so easy to do! I just teased the top of my hair and put it half up with a clip to hold it in the back. I left two sections above my ears and below the part that was secured in the back to add a small braid on each side. Then I secured it all together in the back with bobby pins and twisted the remaining tail of hair into a messy bun, securing that with bobby pins as well.
What do yall think of this look? The Tressemme photographer LOVED my hair & asked to take a few shots of it. Best compliment ever!!
I’ll be sharing more details from the rewardStyle Fashion Week event at the Empire hotel tomorrow 🙂
This day was so exciting, but scary at the same time because I had no idea what to expect. I was attending the show by myself and this was my first NYFW show ever…had no idea where to go, what to do, or how to be prepared. So naturally, I over prepared.
First I had a pre-show drink with my sister & mom at the Empire Hotel across the street from Lincoln Center. This hotel is something straight out of Gossip Girl, y’all! If you ever go to NY..I definitely recommend going there. After finishing my pre-show cocktail I quickly shot my look with this amazingly cute photographer, Kaela from Lousiniana (us southern girls, we stick together!).
Dun dun duuuuun. Then it was time for the show! I quickly grabbed my ipad and was on my way. As I was standing in line with my “stand up” ticket, I realized there was an “assigned seating line” where all the big bloggers and celebrities were passing ever so quickly to get into the theatre. Suddenly, the man next to me says..I don’t need to wait in this line, I used to work for so & so…want to come with me? And I said, “are you sure!?!” (so rhetorical…obvi). And to make a long story short, I passed up the long “standing line” and ended up sitting on the front row at the show.
My life lesson for this year’s fashion week and any advice for the future…be nice/talk to strangers (yes, I said it). I know the fashion industry is extremely competitive and a lot of times every woman is out for herself for a list of reasons, but not everyone is like this believe it or not. I’m not & refuse to be. If I can help get someone to where they want to be, I’m happy to. Because I believe in good Karma and what you give is what you’ll get!
