Every Summer I like to invest in a couple pairs of statement sunnies and this year I found my new secret spot! Well..I guess it’s not really a secret if I’m sharing, but I that’s my job — to give y’all the inside scoop, right?? I didn’t hear about this site until recently and I’m soooo glad I found it —AreaTrend.com is a place to score designer finds at a lower price. And I’m not talking 5 seasons old designer pieces…I’m talking current season!! Umm..hello, yes please!
Year after year, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is my absolute favorite and today the sale has gone public!! This means Early Access has ended and everyone can shop the sale now! For more info, see my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale FAQ guide + updates.
As tired as you might be of hearing about it, the sale is sooo good this year. I scored so many great pieces, but I’m most excited about finding these basics (most under $50)! I filmed a full try-on haul of all my #Nsale purchases on my Instagram stories, but I also wanted to show you what I consider to be the best basics from the sale and how I would style each piece.
I loooove this white satin cami. It’s so simple and plain, but it can be worn with a million different ways. I have a black one that’s almost identical and I got so much use out of it last year! I plan to put this to use right away with high waisted jean shorts and dressing it up with some heels for a date night!
This sweater is SO freaking soft!! And how fun is the criss-cross back? I sized up in this to a Medium because I wanted to be able to wear it as a dress. I’m 5’8 for length reference! This will also be great with black leggings under it when it gets a lot cooler. For now I’m going to be wearing it with these OTK boots (similar pair here on sale)!
I’m always looking for basic tees to add to my closet. The cheap ones usually don’t last for me, but this one is amazing! It’s lightweight, soft, and also thick enough to not be see-through! I love the raw edges on this tee and the v-neck too…I’m wearing a size Small and could’ve sized down to an XS, but I’m into the oversized look on this tee 🙂
This is definitely one of my favorite finds from the sale! It looks super expensive, but the price is amazing. I’m really into the pajama top trend right now, so I also grabbed this pajama style top in white from the sale — another great basic. Definitely wearing these before Fall comes around because even though they’re long sleeve they are super lightweight!!

Today I’m sharing two easy ways to style your black jeans; one casual and one on the dressier side. I’m so excited to be sharing these 4 festival outfits with you guys today! We worked on this lookbook with French Connection & Hemline (the cutest boutique with 23 locations including one here in Houston) and am really thrilled with how it turned out. Festival style is one of my favorites and something I look forward to seeing every year. Tank tops, cut-off shorts, leather booties, off the shoulder dresses, breezy jumpsuits, sneakers…I could go on and on!
Designing a new home from the outside in is so exciting, but decorating a gender neutral master bedroom can be quite a challenge! When we first got the house I had so many ideas in mind for decorating, but as the process began I started to realize that those ideas would remain ideas (sigh) and you have to compromise when sharing your living space with the opposite sex. This is when we decided that I could take the decor reigns on the office, spare bedroom (that’s being turned into a closet room), guest bedroom, kitchen, and dining room. Kyle’s two areas of interest were the living room and our master bedroom. His only requests were NOTHING FEMININE & NO CLUTTER. Easy enough…right?! Well…not quite, because it turns out Kyle (aka KAREN) has opinions about everything and wants to have a hand in the entire decorating process of these two spaces. Typical man, right?! (ha no…hence the name KAREN)
