Our Love Story with Urban Outfitters #UOLoveStories

Serious relationship or not, I’ve always loved Valentine’s day. I’m definitely one of those hopeless romantics that loves, LOVE….like the girl that whole heartedly believes in the 5 Love Languages and makes her boyfriend read it. For me, I show my love by acts of service and receive love by words of affirmation (shocker). Basically any act of love on this V-Day (even if that was receiving flowers + a card from daddy in the years I’ve been single) gets me. Luckily I’ve found a man that gets me flowers not just on Valentines Day, but on more random days than I can count 🙂  Allow me to get a little deep with y’all today and hear our love story. Without further ado, meet my boyfriend, Kyle…

I mean…how freaking cute and handsome is he?! He’s my man crush every day and a solid rock in my life. When everything seems to go wrong, he finds a way to make it right. He’s the first man in my life that supports me in my passions the way my own father does and for that, he will never quite understand how grateful I am. In fact, as I write this it makes me emotional just thinking about that. I’m no relationship expert, but LADIES…above all else, find a MAN who not only lets you pursue your dreams but also supports what you’re passionate about. Just from experience, there’s nothing worse than having a partner that’s selfish and only takes what you pour into their passions.

How we met: I will save the full story for a later post, but basically I was visiting my sister in Houston for my 26th birthday. I was single for a year and was at that point where I felt so content and empowered being on my own that I didn’t really need any man in my life. My sister & I went out for “single girls night” (she’s married, but of course was being a trooper like true sisters are) and the first bar we went to, I meet Kyle. The most absurd part was that the first words out of his mouth were *pointing at me* “YOU…I’m going to marry you.” Like…what?! The things that were running through my head at that time (this drunk idiot, sweet pickup line, that don’t work on me honey) are funny to look back on now. Here we are, 1.5 years later and crazy about each other. I’ve since moved to Houston to be with him and we built a beautiful home together.

Our looks: Since I will be in NYC for fashion week on Valentine’s Day, we celebrated early and this year we decided to have a romantic evening at our new house just to soak it all in. Sometimes the low-key, inexpensive date nights are the best nights! We don’t usually dress like this for dinners at home, but since it was a special occasion we thought why not! Y’all know I’m a huge fan of Urban Outfitters, but what I love most is their great selection for women & men under $100. You can find something for literally any occasion! I styled Kyle (of course) and thought this embroidered rose tee and dusty rose thermal longsleeve were perfect for Vday 🙂 As for my look…I’m a sucker for being comfy so this soft red cardigan was perfect for lounging and the silver wide-leg jumpsuit was perfect for a barefoot dinner at home.

We’re the furthest from perfect, but this is our love story and that’s enough for us. Relationships take hard work and Valentine’s Day is a time to celebrate that! XOXOXO
