So I was driving around the city looking for a cool place to shoot this red hot number and happened to stumble upon this ridiculously dope work of art. I was really just doing this as a test shoot because
I wanted to see how well the dress stood out on top of all the craziness happening behind me, so pardon my lack of a better facial expression in the first photo. Although this red number is perfectly capable of owning a simple backdrop, I was really happy with the photos and voilà! Plus, all the color in this grafitti is just too badass.

When I first saw this dress I immediately thought omg. Valentino Red. It has to be. Right? Wrong. But delightfully so, because my wallet was much happier with me 🙂 This dress is DV by Dolce Vita. They are downright killing it in the dress department at the moment and they really outdid themselves on this one. The color is everything. And the embellished stitching is the icing on the cake. There isn’t anything about this dress that won’t shout fun, sexy, and classy. I also love the capped sleeves on this dress and all of the cutout/sheer detailing because it offers a very feminine touch on such a bold color. Prior to this shoot I attended a baby shower for one of my best and oldest friends. It’s a boy! So I didn’t want to dress too girly, but I wanted it to wear something that was playful yet bold. I would say this dress is just that. The color is technically “berry” but it’s almost a mixture of cranberry, candy apple red, and crimson. Ironically, these are some of fall’s hottest hues this year and I.am.diggin.it.

(bonus: I totally matched some of the baby shower goodies and I wasn’t the least bit mad about it)

In the past I have passed up on solid red pieces for two reasons; one because it appeared to look way too old ladyish (no thanks) and or because it appeared to be trashy or slutty (def not about that).  However, this one can go down in the books for me. It’s a fall statement piece I can’t wait to play around with. I’m thinking a slicked back high ponytail, long vintage chanel necklace, and some black pumps for a christmas party or night out in Dallas. Ok, I know I’m getting ahead..but it will be here before we know it! Happy 3rd day of fall to all you fashionistas! Stay tuned this week for more great outfit inspo and the announcement for my upcoming giveaway!!

xx,
